Quality seals provide clarity for donations. Every year, we put ourselves up for screening by independent Swiss monitoring authorities. FAIRMED is certified by ZEWO and SQS.
ZEWO quality seal
The independent ZEWO foundation reviews our finances and assesses our integrity. Since 1963, our ZEWO quality seal certifies that donations arrive as intended in the project countries.
The quality seal ISO 9001:2015 confirms that FAIRMEDs meets the standards for management, transparency, professionality and reliability of a modern organisation. FAIRMED was first certified for ISO 9001:2000 in 2006. Since March 2017 we have been certified in accordance with the new standard of ISO 9001:2015.
NPO label for Management excellence
In July 2006, we were the thirteenth non-profit Organisation in Switzerland to receive the NPO label for Management Excellence. The label assesses the effectiveness and efficiency of the overall management system and the quality of the services.
PSEAH - Prevention of Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Harrassment

Free visibility thanks to media partners
Advertising is a vital part of the picture also for non-profit organisations such as FAIRMED. With our advertisements, we aim to draw attention not only to the work of FAIRMED but also to show the importance of ensuring that impoverished people have access to basic health care.
Nevertheless, it is understandable that questions arise as to how NGO advertising campaigns are financed. Against this backdrop, we aim to be open and honest: Yes, we do use donations for the purposes of advertising. However, the largest portion by far is published free of charge thanks to the generous support that we receive. FAIRMED only uses 14 percent of its donations for advertising and fundraising. We strive to bring on board as many partners as possible who can place our ads at no cost. A major part of FAIRMED’s advertising is only possible thanks to the generous support of a range of media partners in print and TV.
